We would appreciate you picking your location without changing it down the road (unless absolutely necessary). Below are three scenarios that cause applications to ask this question:
1) You are not ready to commit. It can be intimidating to think about committing to one city/location for the necessary time it takes to not only find space, build your studio, and then on top of it all, build your community. If you are unsure on a location, take the time to reflect on why this is so. Please take ample time to discuss with your family, friends, and those close to you. Write about it, sit with it and when you are ready for the big commitment, we are here to support you!
2) You can’t find the perfect location/city. Oftentimes applicants fixate on the long term goal that they forget the importance of each stage along the way. If you haven’t found the right location yet, step back, take a deep breath, and set an intention around finding a place that speaks to you. Shift your focus from “must open studio” to “let’s find an awesome city/location”... and then take your time to find it. It has taken some studios up to 2 years to find the right city to open in. That process can be emotionally draining if you are focused on the end result the entire time. When you are ready, we are here to support you.
3) The location you choose later becomes unfeasible. You pick a location and realize as you complete your application that you no longer feel it is feasible from a business perspective. This topic is discussed in the FAQs that will be given to you with your application package.
